Reiki Classes | Reiki Healing Energy | Myofacial Release Therapy Craniosacral Therapy The body is a continual fluid motion it is made up of almost seventy percent water. In order for all of the systems of the body to maintain balance this fluid must be moving and not allowed to become stagnant. This is why after surgery patients are required to get up and move around. The cerebrospinal fluid moves from the brain and spinal cord out into the fascial web. The lymphatic system returns this fluid through the fascia to the venous system. Fluid or the lack of it can determine the quality of health of different organ systems of the body and the overall quality of health of the individual. The fluid in the eyes changes every few minutes; otherwise blindness would occur. The pituitary gland and kidneys are continually regulating fluid in the body. To attain true health the body must have sufficient amounts and adequate movement of fluids and this includes the spinal fluid. The cranial bones will be gently following the expansion and contraction of the brain. The twenty-four cranial nerves need freedom of motion. The brain has an expansion and contraction cycle of motion that is related to the life force of the individual. If the brain is moving well, it acts like a wave machine for the fluctuation of the cerebrospinal fluid. The cerebrospinal fluid moves up and down the spine. This fluid is produced by the blood. The total amount of cerebrospinal fluid is about 140 ml, being replaced 4 to 5 times a day, which indicates its very active circulation. If tested it can reveal if a virus or bacteria is the cause of illness or disease in the body. There are many reasons for restricted cerebrospinal fluid; car accident, sports injuries, or if you have been attacked. It is very common for children to have this problem stemming from childbirth. When the bones protecting the brain are squeezed together during the birthing process they can become stuck in a tight compacted position. Over time it can result in headaches, inability to focus, appearing lazy, allergies, restlessness and the list goes on. Craniosacral therapy helps release blockages that restrict the flow of this important fluid. It helps rebalance the rhythmic flow of the cerebrospinal fluid from the brain down to the base of the spine as it nourishes the nerves that affect the entire body. A treatment is usually done on a massage table. The client stays fully clothed. A session lasts anywhere from 15 minutes to one hour. I tend to combine myofascial release and craniosacral therapy together. They compliment one another very well. Anyone would benefit from these therapies from infant up to senior adults. Craniosacral therapy has been used successfully in treating chronic headaches, ADD, ADHD, asthma, and many other weakness in the body. Call Sandra Richardson at 610-998-2894 to make an appointment.
